Cookie Policy

Which cookies and on-device storage JoyBook uses, and which ones need your consent.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. JoyBook also stores some things directly on your device (in your browser’s local storage) so the app works quickly and offline. This page covers both, on www.joybookapp.com and business.joybookapp.com.
2. Needed for JoyBook to work (always on)
These don’t track you and can’t be switched off in the app, because the service doesn’t work without them:
- Your sign-in: keeps you signed in on this device until you sign out.
- Your cookie choice (
joybook_consent, kept 12 months): remembers your answer, shared by both JoyBook sites so you are asked once. - A copy of your bookings and messages, so they open quickly and still show offline. Cleared when you sign out.
- Small preferences: the tab you last used, whether you closed a prompt, your push notification address, and a place you were saving when you were asked to sign in.
- Your location for “Near me”, rounded to about 1 km, kept only until you close the tab, and only if you tapped “Near me”.
- Recently viewed places, kept only on your device and never sent to us.
- Bot check: the sign-up form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which may set a cookie and look at technical details of your browser to tell people from bots.
3. Analytics (only with your consent)
With your OK, we use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics, which sets cookies (such as _ga) to count visits and see how JoyBook is used, so we can improve it. Google processes this data for us under its terms; see how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Nothing is collected for analytics until you choose “Accept analytics”. Until then, and if you choose “No thanks”, Google’s tags run in a mode that stores no analytics or advertising cookies. We don’t use advertising cookies.
4. Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or here:
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the “needed” ones will sign you out and may stop parts of JoyBook from working.
5. More information
JoyBook is run by Maxiconn Technologies (Philippines). The Privacy Policy explains how we use personal data and your rights. Questions: privacy@joybookapp.com.
